When looking up the definition of health care system on the Internet, the first and most popular hit defines it as, â€Å"An organization of people, institutions, and resources that deliver health care services to meet the health needs of targeted populations (cite).† The United States health system has been criticized as one of the lower performing countries in terms of health care dimensions (cite). However, does the definition above speak for that of every health system globally? Where would the United States health system rank on a global scale? How do the United States and other health systems compare using dimensions such as efficiency and equity? These are only a few points I will be covering during the course of this paper. In this paper I will explain the fundamental health systems worldwide, as well as note the similarity or dissimilarity between them and the United States.
